>I'm Dirk and I run the RUB Makerspace. This means that I have been taking care of just about everything that doesn't happen directly on the machines and devices since 2016. Instead of producing G-code, I write lines of text in emails or memos for the administration. Instead of creating 3D models, I'm working on networking and PowerPoint presentations.

>If the makerspace is a 3D print, it's my job to make sure the print is constructed sustainably, the print head doesn't clog, the layers don't rip back up, and nothing gets broken when the support material is peeled off. So unlike the rest of our great team, who teach you how to use our equipment, guide you and advise you, I am unfortunately rarely at the machines. Instead, I act more as a tour guide through our Makerspace and hereby cordially invite everyone to join us on a discovery tour!
